We believe in a four step approach to youth ministry...thus the four letter acroymn S.E.E.D. S.E.E.D. stands for Serving, Energizing, Evangelizing, and Discipling.
Serve:
We believe that our youth should be serving one another and those who are less fortunate than we are. We go on monthly service projects with Project Mend-a-House, and on four separate summer mission trips. This year the High School students are going to Lockport, NY. They will be helping with home repair, preaching, and praying for families.
The Middle School group also will have the opportunity to serve over the summer. They will be going to the Jeremiah Project. The Jeremiah Project is an outstanding program which helps Middle Schoolers help with home repair near Winchester Virginia. The total amount of students going from our youth group this summer to serve others will be close to 45. We take pride in the fact that we are a mission driven youth group.
Energize
We believe in serving in the right way and doing it well. We also believe in having a good time and doing that well. Our big fellowship event that happens once a month is called Friday Night Live. Friday Night Live is our fun event. We have an amazing time playing video games, group games, eat food, win prizes (up to $100 gift certificate), and all in all just have a great time. We believe in having a blast at Friday Night Live and inviting our friends, which leads us to...
Evangelize
Inviting our friends to things is important. We believe in sharing Jesus Christ and God with the people we care about. We believe in growing our youth group, and thus growing the Kingdom. We believe Jesus is the best thing we have found, and like all great things we want to, and strive to share Him.
Discipleship
Discipleship is the final goal we have for our youth group. The world is a tough place. School, peers, the media, sports, etc. tends to stress us out and make it hard for us to see God. That's why we have small groups. Small groups consist of 6-10 students talking about Jesus, and what God wants for our lives. The adult leaders goal is to give each student the foundation that they need to be a disciple of Jesus for life.
